So solid gameplay seems to be safe enough to play. One thing I will say is that having gotten past that first section, I haven't had as much trouble with nausea, but there also haven't been as many wall-to-wall cutscenes. I know you can turn off camera shake for gameplay sections in the options menu, but that doesn't help when the camera is swaying around even during a quiet conversation between 2 people.ĭoes this keep up throughout the rest of the game, or is that first part just "the shaky part of the game"? I get that a shaky cam can give a sort of "real" feeling to the action, but I literally had to stop and take a dramamine in order to get through that prologue chapter. Over the last few years, I've gotten more sensitive to game-related motion sickness. I imagine a lot of disappointed faces on those who bought it without understanding what it was.I don't mean shaky as a measure of quality, I mean shaky as in "the camera is flailing all over the place, oh Christ I'm gonna barf" Ground Zeroes is technically outstanding and there is plenty of content, but its not a complete game. With that being said, if you are aware of what it is going in, I think enthusiasts will still have a great time given the high level of replayability. For this reason, I find myself conflicted as I have so many positive things to say about my experience with the game, but I simply can not recommend it as a retail product. The truth is, if this game had instead been released as a demo/incentive with another Konami title, the general reception would likely have been phenomenal, and followed by a positive trail of excitement and discussion. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is an excellent demonstration for what to expect from The Phantom Pain, and thats exactly what it should have been a demonstration.
#METAL GEAR SOLID 5 PC PROLOGUE SERIES#
The games position in the Metal Gear timeline is later than any of the other prequel titles, so it may be a prologue to Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and the Solid series which followed. In fact, If in any chance you get this game for free, you will realise that GZ has more soul and feeling than most of P.P. Let add me to all this, false advertising for hyping up a game-MGSV-that was never what we got promised. Even if you complete all the extra side ops (that are repetitive and boring),you won't get more than 5 hours of gameplay. What really went wrong here was Konami's horrible business practices and the bright idea to charge 39.99$ ON RELEASE FOR A 1½ HOUR LONG GAME. The story seemed like the magnum opus of the series (only to be later debunked by Phantom Pain's mediocrity) and Skullface was the perfect villain. The gameplay has been reworked for the best (it perfectly combines stealth with action),the graphics are jaw-dropping (the fox engine gives an extremely realistic and naturalistic feel to this game),the enemy A.I is clever and this whole new approach to metal gear solid by Kojima at the time felt fresh.

And this sucks because what we have here is a great title. But problem is,this is not really a game-it's a purchasable demo. This game starts with an incredible cutscene that could only belong in a MGS game.
